About The Tea
Cultivated from a cross between Burmese and wild Taiwanese tea trees, Tai Cha No. 18 (known as Hong Yu or Red Jade) is Taiwan’s most celebrated black tea. Its liquor glows with a deep ruby hue, carrying layered aromas of cinnamon, mint, and subtle citrus. On the palate, it is full bodied and smooth, unfolding notes of pineapple, dark chocolate, and clove. Traditionally aged for a year before drinking, Ruby Black Tea gains depth and warmth over time.
